Stress is one of the most overwhelming feelings that is present during finals and in life in general. Here are some different tools to help you manage your stress during finals from UPrep counselor Andrea Moore.

If you are at 100% stress then the TIPPs system may be the right fit for you:
Temperature: If you want to lower your heart rate, cool down. If you want to increase your heart rate, warm up.
Intense exercise: A quick cardio workout can help you calm down from overwhelming emotions
Paced breathing: This can help you calm down and lower your heart rate
Progressive muscle relaxation: Deliberately tighten your muscles for five second, starting from top to bottom, and then relax your muscles.
“How would I talk to my best friend in this moment?”: We often berate ourselves but would we treat our closest friends the same way we treat ourselves?
Moore suggests self-compassion. Treat yourself the same way you’d treat a friend that is struggling. It’s normal for you to be stressed, you’re not alone.
