How does the cookie crumble?
The Puma Press staff and our advisor, Scott Collins tried and rated six cookies from the North Seattle area. The cookies were rated, out of ten, on four categories, taste, texture, aroma and presentation. Those ratings were then averaged into a total rating out of ten.
Midnight Cookie Company
Located in Wallingford, Midnight Cookie Company was basic compared to its competitors. The presentation was bad, but the texture stood out as decent. Six cookies were $17.
“Average cookie, kinda pale, needed more chocolate. Very good texture, though. I don’t typically like soft cookies, but this one was very, very good,” Sofia Delgado-Pack said.

Bell’s Cookie Company
Bell’s Cookie Company is located in Greenlake and was the winner of our competition. They had the highest quality taste, texture and aroma out of all the cookies. They were on the pricier side at $20 for six cookies.
“The chocolate absolutely melted in my mouth, and the flavors were utterly superb. The sprinkle of sea salt across the top was the perfect little addition to round off the already flawless cookie. I would rate this cookie 11 out of 11 star(in)s,” Sol Starin said.

Sydney's Mother's Cookies
Senior and Editor-in-Chief, Sydney Woogerd, brought in her Mom’s cookies which came with a homemade touch that no other cookie had (stickers!). They scored highest in the presentation department. These cookies were free!
“Very promising cookie, a little bit less soft than I expected, but still a good taste,” Hannah Salemy said.

Metropolitan Market
Located in Sand Point, the Metropolitan Market’s chocolate chip cookie’s scored the lowest out of all six cookies. It’s presentation was tied for the worst. These cookies were the cheapest; they cost $7.19 for ten cookies.
“Good cookie. Solid texture. The taste was kind of bland and didn’t have big flavor. The aroma wasn’t aroma-ing,” Avi Patel said.

Hello Robin
Located in University Village, Hello Robin scored in the middle of the pack. Their texture stood out while the presentation was disappointing Six cookies cost $15.
“Chewy, crunchy, melty even after a car ride—the texture has something for everyone; the taste was solid, but didn’t knock my socks off—nothing special stood out about it,” Scott Collins said.

Commons Cafe
The Commons Cafe cookie had a solid taste. The texture lacked compared the other cookies. It was $2.75 for one cookie.
“Although this cookie was overall not great, it did have the perfect amount of chocolate gooeyness that I look for in a cookie. No crispiness, but the innards were the correct texture. I would rate this cookie a 6 star(in)s out of 11,” Sol Starin said.
