Scares of the Century
Wondering which horror movies are worth your time? We watched them for you.
Grab your popcorn! With spooky season upon us, we decided it was time to review six horror movies. This is meant to guide you in your film-watching endeavors this October. If you’re into classics, check out the reviews in black and white for films from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. If your taste is more contemporary, the reviews in red are some frightening flicks from the 2000s. One black ghost = one point on our rating system.
My dad and I agree: “Halloween” is a classic. Not just in horror movie circles, but in cinema in general. The scares are intense to this day, and the general style has influenced most modern filmaking not just in story but editing, sound design and soundtrack. The franchise spans across generations, making it a film for the ages and earning a high overall scoring of four ghosts. - S GD
