Having a Gourd Time!

As summer falls to an end and autumn is in full swing, it is important to fully experience autumn’s gifts. The perfect place to do so: University Village. With everything from a pumpkin patch to great food, we explored the autumnal wonderland, giving you the run-down on the best eats and fall activities. You better beleaf it was an adventure!

Our first stop was Hello Robin because everyone loves ice cream on a cool October day. We ordered the seasonal special: a kids scoop of pumpkin clove ice cream topped with a pumpkin chocolate cookie. The soft pale orange tones of the ice cream were sprinkled with dark specks of crushed clove and cinnamon. The cookie glowed a bronze color covered with chocolate, still melty from the oven. The cool sweetness of the pumpkin was combined with just the right amount of clove and cinnamon to evoke a marvelous tongue-tingling sensation. You could say it was spicetacular. Unfortunately, the cookie left something to be desired. It was left in the oven a tad too long, the edges were slightly browned, making it very crunchy. We did not pick up much flavor other than the burnt chocolate chips.
