Students were looking forward to participating in spring sports, but now they are sitting at home in quarantine.

Eighth-grade baseball player Charlie Nagle is not feeling sad that they are postponed. He ended the final practice in confusion.

“No, because the coach kicked me out for no reason,” Nagle said. “I was wrestling a teammate really lightly and then I took off my batting helmet and that’s all he saw then kicked us out.”

Charlie said he was most looking forward to playing with friends and now he can’t do that because of quarantine, and the postponing of spring sports.

Nagle also said that he was going to keep up his energy and stamina by playing with friends when things were normal before quarantine. He was relying a lot on his friends but now can’t play with them because of the coronavirus.

Sixth-grader Sylvie Haas has the blues because she can’t participate in the ultimate team for a big part of the season.

“I am sad that I can’t not play ultimate this season. At the same time it spreads a lot of germs,” Haas said.

She said that she was excited to play in the games over the course of the season before it was postponed due to coronavirus and the school closure.

Haas is finding ways around the problem by passing the disc with her brother, who is also a fan of ultimate.

The athletic staff are trying to figure things out right now, and it will depend if students are returning to campus. As for now spring sports are just postponed.
